Public Parks
New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender County all have some beautiful, well maintained public parks that are perfect for family weekends, romantic picnics, just getting into nature, and everything in between.
Brunswick County
Brunswick County is the fastest growing county in North Carolina! Beaches like Oak Island and Ocean Isle have been a favorite of home owners and vacationers alike, giving them a slightly smaller town feel with all of the beauty and relaxing atmosphere. Pictured above is the loved Brunswick County Nature Preserve, located just 15 minutes from downtown Wilmington, convenient enough for residents of both counties to enjoy!
New Hanover County
New Hanover County has so much to offer! Above you can see Airlie Garden and Greenfield Lake. Airlie Gardens boasts an impressive 67 acre park that is full of surprises as you walk through. Just wait until the holidays - Enchanted Airlie is something you don't want to miss! Closer to downtown is beautiful Greenfield lake. It has seen many improvements to its concert amphitheater, the lake itself, and the almost 4 mile loop around! You will frequently see people enjoying kayaking around the lake. Below is Freeman Park on Carolina Beach's North End where you can drive your car out for a day of camping and beach actives or head up to Olsen Park in Ogden to let the littles run wild!
Pender County
Pender county has a wide variety of options for outdoor play. The Northeast Cape Fear River has public beaches all along its banks and of course you still have the easy access of Topsail Island and Surf City, too! The town of Burgaw has a bustling downtown with brand new brewery and tons of antique stores. A perfect "as seen in the movies" small town USA!
